I have a love of sport and a passion for giving back to community and making a positive difference in young people's lives. I truly believe that whatever you give, it comes back to you many times over, and in so many ways.

I also truly believe we need to act as "one system" in NZ in support of the Blacksticks and growing the game of hockey in NZ. This is key, if we are to see hockey continue to have rising participation numbers, and to once again, rise to the top of World Hockey. The PHL is the start of that, with all four franchises closely collaborating, but it also needs the same approach at all levels. Performance and Participation are inextricably linked.

• Former director, shareholder and Senior Investment Adviser with Craigs Investment Partners.
